When did you first start CrossFitting?: February 2014
What is your favorite movement? Favorite workout? My Favorite movement is the wall ball. My favorite WOD is 10 rounds of 50 m run, 10 jumping air squats, 50 m run, and 10 wall balls.
Tell us about your sports & fitness background: I grew up swimming, running, and playing soccer. In graduate school, I got back into running and have since competed in several half marathons and a full marathon.
How did you first get exposed to CrossFit? Do you remember your first WOD? How did it go? I had been contemplating trying CrossFit for a couple of years and finally saw the BullCity CrossFit opening and took the plunge. My first WOD was rough – I don’t remember the exact work out but I remember a lot of ball slams and overhead squats. Jack had to lower the weight of my overhead squats half way through the WOD.
What sort of changes have you seen in your body, health and fitness since starting CrossFit? Definitely have seen an improvement in fitness since joining Bull City CrossFit. I get a lot of compliments and people have definitely noticed a change as well. I feel much fitter than I ever have. Running and other athletic endeavors have greatly improved as well.
What is your favorite CrossFit/BCCFmoment? Doing my first competition after only 4 months of CrossFit training is my favorite BCCF moment so far. I also really enjoy tackling new movements as well.
What is your advice for people just getting started or thinking about starting CrossFit? It hurts after the first few workouts but stick with it because the end result is worth the pain!
What are your hobbies, interests, and/or talents outside of CrossFit? Cooking with my wife, swimming, traveling, ACC basketball, and walking my dog.
